Over the past few years VooPoo has risen to fame thanks to rave reviews of their Drag devices. From full sized mods to pod systems, it’s about time we see a true pod-mod from the e-cig titan!

The VooPoo Drag X takes everything we love about the Drag series and adds the features we need in 2020.

With the release of the Drag X also comes the Drag S. The S model offers a very similar experience with the main difference being its internal 2000mAh battery and maximum 60W output. The Drag X is powered by an 18650 battery (sold separately) and has a maximum wattage output of 80W.

The Drag X follows the bold design language of the Drag series. The matte metal body wrapped in leather (available in several colours) with large DRAG text across the back is the perfect combination of sleek and rugged. On the front you’ll see a large fire/power button and two up/down buttons for adjusting wattage.

Pod’s offer 4.5mL of e-liquid capacity and make use of VooPoo’s extensive PnP coil collection. Newly added to this series of coils is the VM6, which is rated for a VERY cloudy 60-80W. Airflow is adjusted using the slider on the device, you can easily fine tune your airflow setting to suit your preference. If you’re looking for a true MTL experience, the included coils are rather airy. A great option for MTL would be the R2 coils that run at a lower wattage (10-15) and have a much higher resistance at 1.0ohms.

A standout feature of all Drag devices is the Gene chipset. The Drag X comes with the newly released Gene TT chip which offers improved battery management and blazingly fast firing rates.

Flavour production has been fantastic. The mesh used on the PnP coils provide great flavour and above average life with many coils lasting between 7-12 days depending on usage, e-juice and wattage among other factors.

Hands down our favourite feature is USB Type C support. While it is ALWAYS recommended to charge your batteries externally, the introduction of this technology to vape devices allows for improved reliability and faster charging times.

Another standout feature with the Drag X is the Score Mode which provides a score and rank based on the size of cloud you exhale. Work your way from Iron to King with every puff! Out of the box, the Drag X will NOT come with score mode, an update is required and can be found on the VooPoo website.

Overall, the Drag X has our vote for pod-mod of the year so far. Other releases like the Smok Nord 2, Vaporesso Target PM80 and even the VooPoo Vinci provide a great experience, but the Drag X knocks it out of the park with it’s vastly superior suite of features.
