The Products
What is a Personal Vaporizer (E-Cigarette)?
An e-cigarette (or vape) is an electronic device that simulates smoking without the tar and smoke. It heats a liquid (e-liquid) into a mist that you inhale, giving you the sensation of smoking but without the harmful side effects of traditional tobacco.
What is an RDA?
An RDA stands for Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer. It’s for advanced users who want to customize their vape experience.
- You build and wick your own coil to your desired resistance.
- E-liquid is “dripped” onto the wicks every few draws.
If you’re new to vaping, this might not be for you. Make sure you understand Ohm’s Law before using an RDA.
What is an RTA?
An RTA stands for Rebuildable Tank Atomizer. Like an RDA, it lets you build your own coil, but it comes with a tank to store your e-liquid.
- Ideal for advanced users who are comfortable with coil building.
- Make sure you know Ohm’s Law before using it.
FAQ Vape Safety
Is Vaping for Me?
Vaping offers a safer alternative to smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes. It allows users to gradually reduce their nicotine intake, or even stop altogether. However, it’s not for everyone.
- Consult with a healthcare professional if you’re pregnant, nursing, or have health conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, or asthma.
- Not for kids.
If you're an adult looking for an alternative to smoking, vaping can offer a similar experience without the harmful side effects.
How Do Vaporizers Work?
Most vaporizers have a battery that powers a coil. This coil heats the e-liquid (which contains nicotine, flavouring, and base liquids) into a mist that you inhale. Some devices have chips for extra functions and safety features to ensure they work properly and safely.
What is Nicotine?
Nicotine is a natural compound found mainly in tobacco. It's the reason smoking (and vaping) can become addictive. When absorbed, nicotine can make you feel more alert or calm, but it’s also habit-forming.
What is in E-Liquid?
E-liquids typically contain Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG), nicotine, and flavouring.
- PG and VG are commonly used in food, cosmetics, and medicine.
- Flavouring and nicotine are added for taste and effect.
What is Ohm’s Law?
Ohm’s Law helps you understand the relationship between voltage, current, resistance, and power. It's especially important for using mechanical mods and rebuildable atomizers (RBAs).
- Always calculate the amps your coil will pull from the battery using this equation: Amps = Voltage ÷ Resistance.
- Ensure the result doesn’t exceed your battery’s amp rating.
Failure to follow this could lead to battery malfunctions or even explosions. If you're using a mechanical mod, always check your coil's resistance before firing it up.
What Should I Know About Battery Safety?
Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are used in most vaping products and are safe when handled properly.
- Never store batteries loose in a pocket or purse.
- Check for damage (e.g., tears in the plastic, rust) and dispose of damaged batteries properly.
- Battery cases are available for free when you buy two or more batteries at VapeMeet.
Can I Use an E-Cigarette if I’m Pregnant?
It is not recommended to use e-cigarettes while pregnant or nursing. Consult with your doctor for further advice.
